Eventful Weekend :)

Time check: 27th August (Tuesday), 2231

After a series of hideous photos from the previous entry, I am posting a better photo to redeem myself a bit. Hahaha.

Okay cut the crap. So my last weekend was pretty eventful! Ivana, my suitemate (who basically lives in the room opposite mine), invited me to the mall with her and her friends last Friday! Like I said, everyone here is really nice! So I hitched a ride with Ks and Navin to Southpoint Mall! :D

It's a pretty decent mall with theatres, lots of shops like Abercrombie & Fitch (as you can see from the photo), Godiva, Claire's, JCPenny and Victoria Secret etc etc AS WELL AS FOREVER21!!!! Ok I actually kinda switched my favourite to H&M recently cuz F21 just hasn't been selling clothes I fancy. But it is still one of my all-time favourite boutique! You can imagine why I didn't snap a photo of it cuz amidst my excitement, I'm already inside the shop going through the racks. Teehee! I was itching to do some shopping and so I did!! I bought a denim shirt @ 19.80USD! Not really ridiculously cheap but I'm happy. :D

They have Cheesecake Factory as well which I really wanna go someday! I remember the last time I went to Cheesecake Factory in California (I think), I was too bloated to enjoy the cheesecake. -_-

Anyways, it was a rather sunny and hot day so we got some froyo!

Look at the variety of flavours!!!! Despite that, I think that the original flavour tastes best!
We hung around for about 2 hours before heading back to school for a Welcome Bash Party for exchange students! We got to eat free pizza again. I really don't know to be happy or sad cuz I think I've had pizza for at least 5 meals the last week. T_T I really miss chinese food. But as exchange students on a tight budgets, we kinda swarm to anywhere with FREE FOOD. I just did that again this afternoon in Business School only to realise after that that the food was meant for MBA students. HAHA.

And I took a photo of my free lunch. :p

I'm like pondering over what I should eat for every meal and trying to plan out properly so that I can have enough meals from my meal plan for the rest of the semester without having to keep spending $$$ on food and also without snacking on unhealthy snacks all the time. Unhealthy food here is really TOO CHEAP. My favourite Hershey's Cookies & Cream chocolate is like dirt cheap here. Every bar is like less than a dollar? And the drops costs only 2.48 USD (3.12SGD)!!! Pringles was about 1.50USD. & I bought the honey mustard flavour to try cuz it cannot be found in Singapore. Hehehe.

Ok digressing a little too far. After the welcome party/free pizza dinner, we hung around for a little while and then headed to a bar called Les Res (I think) for more socializing. The legal drinking age here is 21 and the college/exchange students here are so young!!! So many of them couldn't drink because they're below 21. & it's a pity for me cuz I'm over 21 yet I don't drink. Welllllllllllll....

We didn't really know where the bar was so we stopped to ask for directions. Right after that, the person immediately asked us, "Do you guys have your fakes?" It took us 30 seconds and repeat of the question twice before we understood where the person was coming from. Like whattttt?? Fakes?? They looked puzzled and surprised when we declared that we're 21. Hahahaha.

Photo taken at the bar that night with the Singaporeans that turned up.

On Saturday, we went to the cookout @ Jordan Lake. I'm glad we made a trip there cuz everyone's been talking bout how beautiful that place it! :) Oh I was kinda retarded. I brought my camera but left my memory card in my laptop. -_- so I had to take crappier photos with my S3 camera.

With Samantha! Also from NUS!

And guess what! We played the Waterbomb Volleyball! Reminds me of OWeek....

With a bunch of Singaporeans! The girl next to me is Gwen, who is a Singaporean senior (4th year) in UNC. She's really bubbly and helpful!!!! It was through her that we got to know about this cookout. :)

The 2nd half of my Saturday was as uneventful as it can get... I did laundry and operated the washing machine on my own for the first time in my life! (Eh don't judge me! I'm not a princess, it's just that clothes at home are always hand-washed!!) And I also used a dryer for the first time!!! Which is a good invention cuz I no longer have to hang my clothes up for air-dry and then wait for a day for my clothes to dry up. Thank you Ks for assisting me in the process. Hahaha. Oh and thanks to Siyi and Samantha for the detergent!

On Sunday, I went to my very first baseball game! Okay I honestly cannot and do not appreciate sports. It's a good experience to go for a baseball game but I don't think I'll ever go again. :p In addition to that, it took me the whole 3 hours to understand 80% of the rules!

Lunch @ Biski's before going for the baseball game.
This place sells DAMN GOOD WRAPS
I think it's the best I've ever had in my life and it's not pricey at all!
According to someone (I can't remember who), the wraps they sell are Carolina food.

Why does the guy behind look like he's posing for the camera as well????

Touristy moment!

 Ks and Rebecca!

 Photo of Franklin St.

Yes my Obey cap!! :)

 Super cute mascots!

Had dinner @ Waffle House along Franklin.

And then we had the froyo everyone in UNC is raving about!

Yes, original flavour again with blueberries! It's the cheapest froyo I ever had in my entire life! Look at that serving!!! Plus the generous amount of blueberries and it's only 2.94USD!!

Happy me with frozen yogurt. :D

And that wraps up my eventful weekend! It's reaching mid-week now and the sparkles have kinda disappeared for me (lol). Initially this place feels so slow-paced, relaxed and everyone speaks slowly, no one runs after the bus (except for us, yes). But.....it's already starting to feel a little boring cuz there's really nothing much left to do anymore! Lol. Okay I haven't really fully explored the place like going to the libraries and memorial centres etc. But really, I don't know what else I can do for the rest of my 4 months here...

I guess the most exciting thing to do during weekdays is to eat in the dining hall!

BBQ Pork x Parsley Carrots x Shrimp Bisque x Salad (last night's dinner)

Tonight's dinner is REALLY awesome! At least to me it is!
(This damn photo refuses to rotate!!!)
But anyways it's Roasted Chicken x Mashed Potatoes with country gravy x Can't recall the name of the greens x Turkey Vegetable Soup (which is damn good!)

Cheese Pizza fresh from the oven!! (I know, pizza again yes..)

Feel like a cow nowdays cuz my main source of greens are raw lettuce lettuce and more lettuce

 Blueberry Waffle

Peach Crepe with SUPER AWESOME vanilla ice-cream!!!

 & my unimpressive detox bowl.

I'm really trying hard to not stuff myself with food every time I go to the dining hall. :/ I've already promised myself to go to the gym tomorrow and Yoga on Thursday! So fats, I'M GONNA BURN THEM ALL.

That's all for mid-week now. I'm gonna insert a chat box so you guys can leave comments!! So I feel less lonely and less like I'm talking to myself. LOL. Tell me you miss me there k. :))))))

Good night guys!
xoxo
